Who is your Master? by Brian James

Who is your master?

Matt:19:16"and behold one came and said unto him, good master what good things shall I do that I may have eternal life?"
A. The man called Jesus good based on his personal view of righteousness
B. Jesus replies there is none good but one, that is God, then says keep the commandments to have eternal life.
C. The man thought he kept everything and said what lack I yet?
D. Jesus says go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor and thou shalt have treasure in heaven, come and follow me
E. The man heard that saying and turned away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.
F. The man was unwilling to let it go because he identified himself with what he had and his possessions had more rule or authority over him than the rule of Jesus.
G. Jesus wants the authority over us, he wants us to recognize Him as Lord and Owner, surrendering ourselves over to Him

Matthew 15:8" these people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth and honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
A. Just saying Jesus is the good Master does not mean He is truly the master of our hearts.
B. Whatever we lend ourselves to obey, that is truly the master over us.
C. If the behavior is pleasing to God, then truly we are serving Him.
D. But if the behavior conflicts with the will & Word of God, then truly we are not serving Him, but serving the enemy of our soul the devil.
E. Romans 6:17 says" but God thank you were the servants of sin, you have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
F. The Word of God is what we hide in our heart, which is the office of authority for the body, so the place of authority or throne needs God's Word in order for Him to have rule.

Mark 9:26-27
A. The dumb and deaf spirit has had control over the boy since his youth.
B. A controlling spirit will seek control over your speech, and what you hear. Its aim is to keep you from having the rule of God's Word in your life.
C. The spirit would cast the boy into the water and into the fire. Controlling spirits intend to kill the purpose of God for your life.
D.The father of the boy wanted Jesus to take the throne, or take control over the boy's mind and heart, however he said if thou canst do anything.
E. Jesus says if thou canst believe, all things are possible.
F. The father cries, Lord I believe but help my but help my unbelief.
G. Imagine how much more God can do for us if we can be healed of unbelief. Unbelief is a savage ruler, it rebels and fights against the Word of God and the Kingdom of God.
H. Unbelief provides an opening for a demonic spirit to reign and
to stop all Spiritual deposits.
I. Jesus says that this kind can come forth by nothing but by prayer and fasting. Fasting brings about a type of death in the flesh.
J. Death is defined as a cessation of all biological activity, therefore fasting will bring about the cessation of all carnal activity that is brought on by the authority of demonic rule.
K. Jesus then casted out the unclean spirit, and established His Rule
by healing the young man. He then extended the right hand of fellowship and he that looked dead, came alive under new authority!

by healing the young man. He then extended the right hand of fellowship and he that looked dead, came alive under new authority!

Heaven has a throne
Earthly kingdoms have thrones
The human body has a throne!

What is man's throne?
Matthew 12:34 " says that out of the abundance the heart the mouth speaks."
A. The mouth speaks that which is ruling the heart
B. If he can get deliverance in our heart, then we can speak life and not death. Then we can obey whom we say is Master.

Proverbs 23:7, As a man thinketh in his heart so is he.
A. So the heart is the chief location of executive decision
B. The heart is just as much the Capital for humans as DC is for the U.S.A
C. 1Samuel 16:7 the Lord says that Samuel is not to looketh on the outward appearance, height, good looks, but God is a discerner of the hearts. The Lord shows what is the seat of rule in a person, and he is searching that seat to know whether we love Him.

So, how does the Lord change the heart?
A. Mark 3:27" no man can enter into a strong mans house and spoil his goods, except he first bind the man and then spoil his goods.
B. It takes the Power of God by his Word and His Spirit to bind the controlling forces within us, so that the Rule of Jesus can take place.
C. Ezekiel 36:25-28"then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, you shall be clean from all your filthiness from all your idols will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you and a new spirit will I put within you and a would take away the stone heart out of your flesh and I will give you a heart of flesh, and I will put my spirit within you and cause you to walk in my statutes.
D. Lets allow for the transformation, lets yield to God and receive a new heart that will cause us to truly say Master!
E. The new heart and the Holy Spirit gives us power to serve God and
to obey Him!!
F. Will power alone is not equipped to obey, it receives its instruction from a fallen heart whose rule is contrary to God.
G. Lets be transformed together, through the renewing of our mind, by being born again, John 3, that we may see the Kingdom of God!!

God Bless you!!
