Trusting God When... by Antione Taylor

Trusting God when you don’t have enough... (2 Kings 4:1-6)

2 Kings 4  “Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.

- If you owed money they could take everything you own, including kids.
2 And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath
not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil. (Anointing/Power)
3 Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.

4 And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.

5 So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out. -When you need something, you got to be obedient, Trust & pour out to God.
6 And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.

- She filled up so many pots, yet there was still more oil (Anointing/Holy Ghost) Spiritually vessels represent people. (There is yet still room at the Cross for more vessels)

- God shows us that if you Trust Him with the little he has given, he will give you Abundance, if you trust him! (Then he will tell you to Bring him another vessel)

7 Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.

- In the Natural, he caused a shift in her Favor & made that oil that Anointing to break the yoke of debt over her & her house.) Similar story in (1 Kings 17) meal & oil

Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God. (Appealing to his flesh)
19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, (Unconditional love) and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: (Can you Handle the Truth?) go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

(Acts 21:7) - In Asia they end up beating Paul & arresting him for false reasons) (Ex: At UC my time)
7 After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.

him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.

2 Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, saying, (Prayer Still Works)

3 I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

4 And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the LORD came to him, saying,

5 Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day (Represents resurrection) thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD. (Ex: Woman with Cancer)

“What It Really Means to Love Someone”

Love-Agape Love-Greek word-Unconditional love.

-A lot of idolatry happening. People doing their own thing, even God’s own.

Hosea 1:1 The word of the Lord that came unto Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.

Hosea 1:2 The beginning of the word of the Lord by Hosea. And the Lord said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms (prostitute) and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great whoredom, departing from the Lord.
-Go and marry a prostitute. Even have kids with her.
(Hosea 3:1, NLT) Then the Lord said to me, “Go and love your wife again, (unconditional love) even though she commits adultery with another lover. This will illustrate that the Lord still loves Israel, even though the people have turned to other gods and love to worship them.”
-Even though she is going to cheat on you time & time again, love her anyway. (Romans 11:33) ‘his ways past finding out) (Ex: talk shows & movie- (Romans 5:8) “yet sinners, Christ died for us).
-What it means to love someone. (Jesus hanging on the cross) This shows God’s commitment. Jeremiah 3:14  Turn, O backsliding children, saith the Lord; for I am married unto you”

Hosea 3:2 So I bought her back for fifteen pieces of silver and five bushels of barley and a measure of wine.

Hosea 3:3 Then I said to her, “You must live in my house for many days and stop your prostitution. During this time, you will not have sexual relations with anyone, not even with me.”
-Jesus paid the greatest cost for us. He even prayed for those beating, spitting & nailing him!
Hosea 3:4  This shows that Israel will go a long time without a king or prince, and without sacrifices, sacred pillars, priests, or even idols!

Hosea 3:5  But afterward the people will return and devote themselves to the Lord their God and to David’s descendant, their king. In the last days, they will tremble in awe of the Lord and of his goodness. (Wonder, Why he loves me so much?
Luke 15:12-17 (“And when he came to himself.”)
John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
(1 Corinthians 13, KJV, NIV), ‘Love is patient, love is kind, It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud it keeps no record of wrongs, Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth, Love never fails. (Bullet-proof God)
John 15:12  Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
-Many put up walls, barriers, locked doors-hurt pain, abuse their love.
John 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. John 15:14
Even love & forgive people who hate you & even people who do you wrong (Ex: Joseph)
Jeremiah 31:3  The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: (A Love that doesn’t fall apart or waiver) therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. (Even in your mess)
-With patience, love, Chastisement, I have loved you. Even though you go astray & do things your own way.
-Many take Love for granted. (YouTube videos, the world mocks (Matt. 24:40-41) ‘one taken & one left) (Hebrews 13:17) “for they watch for your souls, for they watch for your souls.”)
